A Glorious Fall Day!
October 21st, 2022 was a very special day here at Keswick Vineyards. Not only was this the day Emilia and Andrew said I do but it was the day we really saw all the fall colors at their peak here on property. October is absolutely beautiful here in Virginia. I mean just look at these beautiful photos right before the sun set!
Something I really loved about their special day and we have started seeing this more and more is how Emilia decided to have not only her father but her mother walk her down the aisle as well. I think this is a special way to honor both of your parents on your wedding day!
We also can’t forget to mention the real star of the show for this wedding, the couples dog, Penelope! Penelope was even dressed up in a fluffy white dress to watch her humans say I do! We absolutely love when couples include their dogs in their ceremony because who doesn’t love a fluffy friend!
We feel so honored to have been the coordinator for their wedding day! Emilia and Andrew, it was an honor working with the two of you and seeing your wedding dreams become a reality. We wish you a lifetime of love and happiness and can’t wait for you to visit us in the future!

No Rain is Going to Ruin My Day!
After 2 years of waiting for this day, Ariel & William’s wedding day was finally here!!! October 16th started off to be such a beautiful day. The fall colors were really starting to pop! To everyone’s surprise, rain appeared on the radar and now we were juggling if we could still do the ceremony outside. The bride wanted the ceremony outside no matter what! But sometimes that just can’t happen because of equipment that photographers, videographers, musicians, DJ’s, etc. use that can’t get wet. As everyone made their best guess to what Mother Nature would ultimately do, Ariel & William had 2 meteorologists on hand to make that call for them. So, they concurred that at 5:00 there would be no rain. So, as you can see, the ceremony was outside and although at 5:00 it was sprinkling, by 5:10, all was clear! Thank you, Mother Nature, for allowing them to have their dream ceremony outside in front of Keswick Vineyards beautiful fountain with florals in the bowls.
Ariel’s father made a unique seating chart. He purchased some old record albums which each represented a table and then listed the names on the label part of the record. They were hung and displayed at the entrance of the reception tent for everyone to find their seat. Pretty creative!
I think one thing that everyone will remember was the delicious food! My favorite part had to be the mash potato bar! How great is that????

A Blending of Cultures
You know the saying, love is blind, right? I’d like to add that love has no boundaries. The love was evident at the double ceremony marriage of Hannah & Rohan at Keswick Vineyards on Saturday, October 15th. What’s beautiful about getting married at Keswick Vineyards is you are given a 12-hour rental time that you can use however you want. With our tasting room being totally separate from our private event area, couples can start their ceremony at any time meaning, they don’t have to wait for our tasting room to close. This is HUGE when you want to incorporate 2 different cultural ceremonies into one day.
Hannah & Rohan started their wedding day with a traditional Hindu ceremony. I just love everything about these ceremonies. I’m always thankful when the couple provides a program that fully describes each element of the ceremony.
Hannah & Rohan then did a traditional Jewish ceremony after a quick change. During that time, guests enjoyed their first cocktail hour. Hannah surprised Rohan with the song she chose to walk down the aisle to. It was Art Garfunkel’s “Bridge Over Trouble Water”. I found out later that Hannah chose that song because it is one of Rohan’s favorite songs. They were both shocked when I told them I thought she chose that song because Art Garfunkel use to live here. They had no idea and were totally blown away when they found that out. What a way to make choosing that song even more spectacular!
Both Hannah & Rohan were part of the acapella singers when they attended UVA. Rohan was part of the Virginia Gentlemen and many men of that group were in attendance. So of course, they had to perform a song in front of everyone dedicated to Hannah. What a treat!
Guests had so much fun dancing the rest of night away. As you can see, they did the traditional Jewish Hora dance, also known as the chair dance. What a spectacular wedding that had no boundaries, just love! Congratulations Hannah & Rohan!

Wine Box Ceremony
Finishing out our triple wedding weekend was Marya and Anthony with their Sunday, October 9th wedding at Keswick Vineyards. What a gorgeous fall day they had! The colors are just starting to make an appearance which makes such a beautiful back drop for photos.
Marya & Anthony chose to have their ceremony in the middle of Edgewood’s private driveway, so the ever-changing colors of the Southwest Mountains adored their background for all their guests to admire. I just love being able to be witness some of the heartwarming things that take place “behind the scenes” such as this loving kiss from Marya’s dad to her just before they walk down the aisle.
Being married at a winery, I love it when our couples somehow incorporate some sort of wine theme into their day. Marya & Anthony chose to do the wine box at their ceremony. For those who don’t know what that is, let me explain. The couple has a wine box made that has their name and wedding date on it. Inside the box is a special bottle of wine. Marya & Anthony chose a 2017 Heritage bottle of wine because 2017 is the year they met! Each of them writes a letter to one another and seal it in the box along with the wine. During the ceremony the couple locks or nails the box close and are not allowed to open it until a future set time like their 1st anniversary or 5th anniversary. At that time, they will open the box, enjoy the wine, and read each other’s letter. It is recommended that the bottle be replaced with a new one (perhaps a bottle with the year they were married) and write new letters to each other and seal away to be opened again in another 5 years. The box also can be opened early if your marriage hits a bump to hopefully remind you what you love about each other.
Another little touch that I liked about this wedding was the tapestry hanging at each bar that listed the beverages being offered. First time for me to see this and I thought it was a very nice touch versus the typical framed sign on the bar.
Everything about this wedding was just beautiful! I just love how the tent looked at night! Marya & Anthony added greenery to the tent poles to bring that outside garden feel under the tent. And the food from C&O, delicious!
