Always Have a Backup Plan

If you are thinking of having an outdoor wedding, you better always have a solid backup plan for the “what ifs”. Know one had ever thought that on Saturday, September 23, 2023, that anyone having a wedding that day in the Charlottesville area would have to deal with Hurricane Ophelia. Not only does a hurricane bring rain, but also constant winds and wind gusts so you better be ready.

Thankfully, for Georgi and Evan, they chose to have their wedding at Keswick Vineyards. Regardless of what Mother Nature throws at us, we are prepared for it. Our tent has permanent anchors that go down about 5’, tent sides to block any rain or wind, drainage around our tent to keep the inside completely dry, artificial turf to remain dry, generators if needed to keep the party going, umbrellas and the most dedicated staff and vendors to make sure your dream wedding happens no matter what!

When couples tour here, we always tell them about our rain plan and how we prefer it over renting another tent. Not only does this save you money, but when we have everything in our main tent to keep everyone comfortable and happy and the brightness of our Aurora tent on a cloudy day versus a vinyl tent, it really is a no brainer to do it. Just look and see what you think.

We basically set up the tent how it should look for the reception yet push the tables to the outer perimeter to make an open space to set up the ceremony. When the ceremony is over, guests head to the other side of the tent to the bar while we quickly take those ceremony chairs and place around the tables on the other side to open up the ceremony side of the tent for us to move those tables that were on the perimeter, back to their correct position. We then add the remaining chairs and boom, we’re done!

For cocktail hour, it is under our main tent, and we use the dance floor as the location for any stationery food and high-top tables. We can easily have this ready to go even before the ceremony starts so as soon as the ceremony is over, guests can start enjoying some appetizers and drinks. Once cocktail hour is over, we remove any tables from the dance floor, and we are ready to start the reception just as always planned!

Fortunately, with a hurricane, you get bands of bad weather. So, when the opportunity for no rain happened, we quickly take pictures outside. Look how happy our couple is!

So, although Georgi and Evan didn’t get to have their outside ceremony, they still were able to get married under a beautiful tent protected from Mother Nature.

Thank you for all their vendors who went up and beyond the norm to make sure Georgi, Evan and all their guests had an exceptional and memorable time:

A Perfect September Celebration: Taylor & Max's Vineyard Wedding

Love was in the air on Saturday, September 16, 2023, as Taylor and Max embarked on the journey of a lifetime together. Their picturesque wedding took place at the stunning Keswick Vineyards, just outside Charlottesville, Virginia. This enchanting day was nothing short of a fairytale, filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Nestled amidst the rolling hills of Virginia wine country, Keswick Vineyards provided the perfect backdrop for Taylor and Max's special day. The historic Edgewood Estate, built in 1911, served as a majestic setting for their nuptials. The grand estate exuded timeless elegance, making it a dream location for a wedding celebration.

As the couple exchanged vows, a breathtaking floral arch framed the iconic fountain at Edgewood Estate. The serene sound of flowing water and the vibrant colors of the flowers created a magical atmosphere, leaving everyone in awe of the moment.

Taylor and Max's wedding colors added a vibrant touch to the day. The ladies wore stunning coral dresses that perfectly complemented the natural beauty of the vineyard. The gentlemen, on the other hand, looked dapper in their blue suits, creating a harmonious blend of colors that mirrored the sky and the vines.

One of the standout features of Taylor and Max's wedding was their innovative wedding programs. Instead of the traditional booklet, they opted for a 3-piece hand fan that not only kept guests cool but also served as a keepsake from their special day. The intricate details and thoughtful design made these programs a unique and cherished memento.

While the newlyweds ventured off for their photoshoot, guests enjoyed delicious appetizers and drinks, taking in the picturesque surroundings of Keswick Vineyards. As the sun began to set, it provided a stunning backdrop for the couple's photos. The golden hour captured the essence of their love, creating timeless memories.

The evening continued with a joyful reception, filled with heartfelt toasts, delightful cuisine, and dancing under the stars. Friends and family celebrated Taylor and Max's union, creating a warm and unforgettable atmosphere.

As the stars shone brightly above Keswick Vineyards, Taylor and Max danced the night away, surrounded by the love and support of their cherished guests. Their wedding day was a beautiful testament to their love story, and it marked the beginning of an incredible journey as husband and wife.

We wish Taylor and Max a lifetime filled with love, laughter, and countless more sunsets as beautiful as the one on their wedding day. Cheers to the happy couple, and may their love continue to grow with each passing day!

A Perfect September Wedding at Keswick Vineyards: Rachel & Patrick's Love Story

Love was in the air on Friday, September 15, 2023, when Rachel and Patrick exchanged their vows at the picturesque Keswick Vineyards, nestled just outside Charlottesville, Virginia. In the heart of Virginia's wine country, Rachel and Patrick's love story unfolded amidst the beauty of Keswick Vineyards. Their wedding was a perfect reflection of their love, and the setting could not have been more magical. If you're considering a vineyard wedding in September, take a page from their story – it's a time of year when nature itself becomes a part of your love story.

September is often considered the golden month for outdoor weddings in Virginia, and Rachel and Patrick's celebration was no exception. The weather was nothing short of perfect. The afternoon sun bathed the vineyard in a warm and inviting light as the couple said their "I do’s." As the evening approached, the temperature cooled down just enough to keep everyone comfortable while dancing the night away. The magic of this season was further accentuated by the fact that tent sides could remain up without the need for fans or heaters, although Keswick Vineyards had all the amenities on hand, just in case.

Rachel and Patrick's ceremony was held amidst the freshly harvested Viognier vineyard, creating a rustic and romantic atmosphere. The vineyards provided a stunning backdrop, and the mountains added an extra touch of enchantment to this special day. The couple wisely chose to rent one of Keswick's arbors, allowing the natural beauty of the venue to shine through.

The couple's wedding style was characterized by its simplicity and elegance. During cocktail hour, guests were treated to delicious award-winning wines from Keswick Vineyards. Musicians provided entertainment, serenading guests as they mingled and celebrated the union of Rachel and Patrick.

For the bridal party, the bridesmaids donned sage green dresses that harmonized beautifully with the lush surroundings, while the groomsmen looked dashing in classic black tuxedos. The choice of attire perfectly balanced the charm of the vineyard with a touch of sophistication.

Under the tent, simplicity was key. Instead of extravagant floral centerpieces, candles adorned the tables, casting a soft, romantic glow over the evening festivities. The seating chart was elegantly displayed on a framed mirror, creating a sense of timeless charm.

Rachel and Patrick's wedding at Keswick Vineyards was a testament to the beauty of simplicity, the allure of a vineyard setting, and the magic of a perfect September day. It was a day filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments that they, their families, and their friends will cherish for a lifetime.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, and the vineyards transformed into a sea of twinkling lights, Rachel and Patrick danced the night away, celebrating not only their love but also the enchantment of a September wedding at Keswick Vineyards.

Painting Anyone?

Lilah and Alexander hosted their wedding reception and cocktail hour at the gorgeous Keswick Vineyards on Sunday, September 10th, 2023. They chose to have their ceremony off-site at a local Catholic church. With our extended rental time, Lilah and her bridesmaids had plenty of time to get ready here while the guys hung out in the “man’s cave”. Once returning as a married couple, pictures commenced capturing all the natural beauty of this venue.

My absolute favorite part of this wedding was the live painters they had. One painted a canvas print of the couple walking around the fountain while the other painter did watercolor paintings of individuals or couples. I can’t tell you how many guests complemented the personal gift of a watercolor painting to take home to remember this special day. Just look at the beautiful progress the canvas took throughout the evening. The artist will take it home to finish it completely, but I thought it looked amazing even without that being done to it.

Lilah & Alexander’s guests were here to dance and play some air guitar☺ To keep that energy going guests enjoyed several selections of desserts being served after a delicious plated dinner.

Thank you to all the vendors for a great job!
