A Celebration of Dance, Love, and Travel at Keswick Vineyards
Emily and Nathaniel tied the knot at Keswick Vineyards on May 25, 2024, in a stunning outdoor ceremony surrounded by their family and friends. The couple wanted to incorporate their love of travel and adventure into their wedding day. They also wanted to surprise their guests with some special details that reflected their personalities and passions.
Right from the beginning guests got to see a collage that Nathaniel had made for Emily. It showcased many pictures of them at memorable locations and part of a text Nathaniel sent to Emily after their first get together. He knew from the very beginning that she was the one for him!
One of the most memorable moments of the ceremony was Emily's grand entrance with her father in a vintage car. Nate and the guests had no idea that Emily had planned this surprise for him. Notice in my photos how everyone is looking back for Emily to appear like the rest of the wedding party when they finally hear the vintage car approaching up the private driveway of Edgewood Estate. Great job Emily with the surprise!!!
Another unique detail that the couple incorporated into their wedding day was burying a bottle of bourbon in the ground a month before their wedding. This is a Southern tradition that is supposed to bring good weather on the wedding day, and it worked! The couple enjoyed a sunny day, perfect for their outdoor vows & tented reception. They dug up the bottle after the ceremony and shared a sip with their bridal party, celebrating their newlywed status.
Cocktail hour was held under a 300+ year old oak tree on the east side of Edgewood Estate. The focal point of this area was a large, circular bar underneath some swagged bistro lights that could satisfy anyone’s thirst! Guests enjoyed music played by musicians while enjoying some appetizers while the couple and family took photos.
Photos with the vintage car was a must. That 1940’s Packard car in front of Edgewood Estate sets a classic yet timeless background for this couple. Just look how beautiful they are! And, how cute they are. They made sure to take a selfie with their priest and also had him take a moment to bless that gorgeous car. Too sweet!
The reception was held in a spacious tent at the vineyard, decorated with elegant white and green florals, string lights, and an elegant chandelier over the dance floor. The tables were named after different countries such as France, Italy, and Japan. Each table had a token that represented that country, such as a mini-Eiffel Tower, Lock Nest Monster, or a koala bear & kangaroo set. Their seating chart also reflected their love of travel.
The highlight of the reception was the couple's first dance. Emily, who has danced all her life and was on a dance team in college, and Nathaniel, who learned some moves from her, wowed the guests with their impressive performance, which included the iconic lift from the movie “Dirty Dancing”. Just look at those extensions of her hands in each move she made! This was definitely one of the best 1st dances I have witnessed here!
I could go on and on about this wedding because it just had so many exceptional moments. Hopefully my photos captured some of it. None of this would have been possible without the exceptional vendor team this couple put together including: Keswick Vineyards as their planner, Lexington Catering Company, DJ John Garland, Photographer Sarah Goodwin, Videographer Benjamin of Advantage Point, Verde Naturals Florals, Reverend Anthony Hash, Musicians Duo Boheme, Albemarle Limousine and Fredericksburg Limousine Inc. for transportation, Rentals by Happily Ever After, Hair & Makeup by FBJ Weddings and Photobooth of C’Ville.
Let’s Hear it for Gigi!
On Sunday, May 12th, Sage & David finished out Keswick Vineyards triple wedding weekend and they definitely hit the jack pot with the weather! Taking full advantage of their picture-perfect day, they chose to get married in front of the Edgewood fountain with the vineyard and mountain view as their backdrop. That view just never gets old to me.
A few things that I just loved about their wedding:
The first is their guest book. Instead of a traditional guest book they chose to have their guests sign a corn hole board. What a great way to bring back such wonderful memories of your wedding day every time you play corn hole!
As an animal lover and a mommy to several 4-legged children, I love how their baby, Gigi, was included in their ceremony. Look how cute Gigi looks in her tutu! She did so great!
Lastly, being a hobbyist photographer, I just love it when our couples want to get in my golf cart and go for a ride to find more locations for photos. Just look at the beautiful golden glow in the vineyard and I always love going down to the pond to capture the vineyard in the background.
So thank you, Sage & David, for trusting Keswick Vineyards to host your dream wedding at and thank you for letting me be a part of it along with these other incredible vendors: Moriah McAllister of The Evergreen Collective as your planner, Catering by Harvest Moon, DJ Fit (Nathan May), Lily Magnolia Photography, Florals by Secret Gardens, Officiant Paul Walker, Hair & Make-up by Posh Bride and Transportation provided by Easy Riders.
A Fusion of Colors
When Keisha & Matt’s wedding guests arrived at Keswick Vineyards to witness their marriage on Saturday, May 11th, they were immediately greeted by some amazing florals. I love their welcome sign! Simple, yet eye popping!
Once passing their welcome area, guests immediately were awed by their ceremony location situated right up against the Viognier vineyard. Encircling the couple at their altar was a metal circle embossed with florals. And let’s not forget the aisle lined with some of the most vibrant and beautiful florals I have seen. Speaking of vibrant colors, I just love how Keisha’s bridesmaids each wore a different color of gown.
Mother Nature was making things a little difficult. Rain was all around us forcing many to have their outdoor ceremonies inside. Keisha & Matt had no problem with a little mist and still did their ceremony outside with umbrellas on hand for anyone who may have needed it. Thankfully, Mother Nature changed her mood and provided some sunshine to delight everyone!
The theme of florals continued right into the reception tent that had greenery hanging from the bistro lights above making a fairy tale impression to all. Once again, more vibrant florals were used as centerpieces. Even their wedding cake had some florals.
Florals can be expensive, so I just love how Keisha and Matt were able to repurpose their circular ceremony floral arch. Look how lovely it looks behind their sweetheart table.
As the evening continued, so did the celebration while everyone danced the night away under the glow of the tent.
Special thanks to the following vendors: Sarah-Jane Bennett of Planners on Retainer, C&O Catering, Cake Bloom, DJ G-Money Greg Lucas from Three J’s Entertainment, Delano Scott Photography, Ruffle & Rust Florals, Hair & Make-up by Society 11:11, Albemarle Limousine, Rentals by MS Events and Rent E-Quip.
Nature Provided the Color for this Wedding!
Congratulations are in order for Stephanie and Ian, who were married at Keswick Vineyards on Friday, May 10th, 2024!
As the proud owner, Cindy rarely misses a single wedding hosted at her venue, having personally overseen over 600 joyful celebrations. However, on this particular occasion, an exception was made as her daughter's college graduation coincided with the wedding day festivities. Cindy’s absence wasn’t the only rare occurrence on Stephanie and Ian's special day; everyone was in for an extraordinary surprise as Mother Nature unveiled not one, but two breathtaking natural phenomena during their wedding reception.
Soon after the couple’s grand entrance into the reception tent, the persistent cloudy skies finally cleared, and a rainbow appeared in the sky over the vineyard. As you can imagine, everyone had to go outside for photos!
Once the reception was well underway, the Northern Lights graced the skies! Not only were they beautiful, especially with the silhouette of the mountains, vineyard, and fountain in the foreground, but they’re also very rarely seen in Virginia!
Stephanie and Ian’s wedding day was nothing short of once-in-a-lifetime, so say the least. From their stunning black and white decor, to the pop of color provided by Mother Nature, this couple’s day could not have been more perfect. Thank you to their wonderful vendors who helped make it all happen!
